Billionaire Elon Musk reacquired domain name X.com

Billionaire Elon Musk, founder of PayPal recently reacquired domain name X.com, the value has not been disclosed.

X.com is one of the few well-known, high-value one character .COM domain names that registered in 1999 by Elon Musk himself.

X.com was formerly an online financial services provider co-founded by Elon Musk. Later, X.com merged with Confinity (a company that provided mobile payment security solutions) and was renamed PayPal in 2001. Later, due to a development disagreement with the board, Elon Musk decided to leave PayPal, but remained the largest shareholder. In 2002, PayPal IPO and eBay bought for $ 1.5 billion, Musk has made millions of dollars despite being no longer there.

Since then, this domain has always been under the management of the PayPal company.

However, in the beginning of July this year, this domain was officially put on GoDaddy and transfer status to hidden information. Soon after, billionaire Elon Musk posted a twitter stream of announcements regarding the acquisition of the X.com domain.

This information has also been genuine PayPal Media – Amanda Miller confirmed: “We are happy to sell the domain X.com to its former owner, Elon Musk“.

Acquiring the domain name X.com, Musk says there are no plans for this domain. However, the tech community will probably be curious and watch every move from Musk, waiting for a spectacular re-launch of X.com.

Elon Musk is an inventor, entrepreneur, and South African billionaire. He is best known for his founding of SpaceX and co-founded Tesla Motors and PayPal. (According to Wikipedia).

The price of the deal is not disclosed but it would be a non-small number. We will have to wait until the next financial statement of PayPal to know it.
