Yesterday, GoDaddy made an official announcement on the website, announcing the acquisition of a part of Neustar. Accordingly, the Registry will soon be taken over and developed by Godaddy.
The deal is expected to be completed quickly in the second quarter of this year.
The Neustar Registry is one of the world’s largest domain registrars with popular extensions like .CO, .BIZ, .US, .NYC or .IN. Recently, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MinTIC) of Colombia was also pleased to announce the extension of the management contract .CO domain name with Neustar for more 5-years.
In addition to its strong registration technology platform, the company is also highly regarded for its security system and other ancillary services.
After the acquisition, the new service will be called the GoDaddy Registry, led by Nicolai Bezsonoff – currently the senior vice president and general manager of the Neustar Registry. GoDaddy will strictly follow the governance model, maintaining independence between the GoDaddy Registry and the current domain registration service – this is part of the purchase agreement.
With his new position, in his new home, Bezsonoff said, he and the group are very happy to join the GoDaddy family. Bezsonoff and his colleagues will continue to maintain and develop the values that GoDaddy has built over the past 20 years. It can be considered as a new breath of life mingled with a common vision to help individuals, businesses and brands succeed in the online market.
Detailed information about the value of the deal remains a mystery. This year, let’s wait and see if there are any new changes to GoDaddy.
