StableHost is shutdown all server by Singapore location datacenter service provider – PhoenixNAP, all client data is being transferred to Phoenix.
Starting yesterday, a series of comments appeared on CouponTree complaining that the website was inaccessible, unable to login to cPanel. This is quite strange because often when hosting error but the server is still running, cPanel must still be accessible!
Early this morning StableHost began to announce on Twitter about the problem, all four servers in Singapore location include: sin01, sin02, sin03, sin04 are down.
At first I thought, all four servers are shutdown can be due to the network connection of the datacenter provider has a problem or DDoS, but the problem with StableHost is usually server down trouble only.
However, things are complicated and not so simple. In the end, StableHost has sent out a formal announcement via email and Twitter about this issue: StableHost’s Singapore server has been shut down by the datacenter provider without giving any notice.
“Yesterday our Singapore Datacenter Provider got an abuse complaint about 1 of our clients, this resulted in one of our Singapore Dedicated Servers being shut down. We immediately began the work of restoring all the data to a new server and also talking to our provider to try and sort out this client and getting the server back online.
During all of this our provider decided to shut down all the remaining servers in the Singapore Location without any further notice, giving us 0 access to them and the clients data on the servers.
We got access to our Backup Server and was able to start taking out all our client information to our other datacenter provider in Phoenix.
This resulted in our team setting up new servers in our Phoenix datacenter to move all customer data there. The restoration is in full progress but it’s taking time due to the amounts of TB data that needs to be migrated from Singapore to Phoenix. As of now, we don’t have any clear ETA but the first customers should start coming up again shortly.
Our work will continue until all accounts are restored to our other Datacenter Provider, our 24/7 support is available to answer any questions you might have during the server migration. We are very sorry about this and are working hard to solve everything as soon as possible.
– StableHost Team”
Currently, all Singapore server customers are moving to a new server in Phoenix. Data from the backup server so can not be the latest version, also do not know when will be finished. Please wait for the next email notification from StableHost, they will send the IP address to point the domain, so your website works again.
We do not know what the future of StableHost Singapore server will be, whether they use this datacenter again or not?
All the latest information about this incident, I will update constantly on CouponTree. Please follow and comment in this post!
