Vultr officially launched Object Storage, basic plan of $5/month

Vultr Object Storage is a highly scalable storage solution recently launched by Vultr.

Vultr Object Storage provides storage space that can expand flexible capacity according to needs and manage via S3 application or API.

Just sign up for the basic plan for $5/month, get 250 GB of storage and 1000 GB of bandwidth, and customers can upload data and use immediately.

Data (files) here are called objects. Data uploaded to object storage can be shared publicly or individually and Vultr is almost unlimited with the amount of data. Each GB of storage data exceeds the basic package, Vultr charges an additional $0.02; corresponds to a bandwidth of $0.01 per GB.

Some suitable cases to use Vultr Object Storage:

  • Static data of the website (images, javascript, CSS, audio files, videos).
  • Software or company data.
  • Backup data.
  • Need to store bulk objects.

Previously Vultr also launched a storage solution called Block Storage, completely different from Object Storage. Block Storage is provided in the form of disks used to mount Vultr’s server, like attaching an external drive to a computer. The Object Storage provides storage space accessible from the Internet with HTTPS links. For more information, please refer to here.

Currently, we can only create Object Storage in the NY/NJ location, in the future Vultr will expand to all other locations later. In addition, Vultr has temporarily turned off the upload feature with the browser, if you want to upload, you will have to use S3 Client.

If you do not have a Vultr account, register now with the program for free $50 trial.
